Yeesh. It's such a gawd-awful mess. The oil slick is bad enough, but the damn thing's still leaking and a fire might help but not without a plume of black smoke to rival the Icelandic volcano ash in Europe.
But they're the Coast Guard and they'll do what they gotta do. In retrospect, I guess offshore drilling isn't such a hot idea after all. No pun intended.
Great comic! But now they're going to dump a whole bunch of chemicals into the gulf to make the oil stick to the bottom of the water. Mmm. Pre-oiled shrimp!
ReplyDeleteIt's okay, though. Rush Limbaugh says this is all comparable to a totally normal level of oil seepage that regularly leaks out of the bottom of the Gulf. So it's kinda like it never happened.

Oh, and of course he also thinks this was an inside job "by hardcore environmentalist wackos." Because obviously it's the secret desire of any environmentalist to turn the Gulf of Mexico into a giant Lube Pros refuse tank.
